WHO WE ARE
The purpose of Bethel Baptist Church, as we understand it
scripturally, is to bring glory to God through the fulfillment of the "Great Commission. (Matt 28:19-20; Eph 1:12-14; 1 Cor 10:31).
Our vision is to be a dynamic fellowship of believers modeling the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, impacting our community by sharing His love with individuals and
families through expository biblical preaching, Bible-centered education, and effective outreach. We take seriously the words
of our Lord when He said, " you must be born again" (John 3:3). Part of the ministry of our church through this web site is to proclaim the
message of eternal life through Jesus Christ. The Bible says God loved the
world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to face the
penalty of sin, and that whoever believes or has faith in Him will be saved,
will be restored to fellowship with God and have eternal life. If you

Bethel Baptist Church
is a conservative church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, The
Kansas Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptist and the Eastern Nebraska Baptist
Association. We were founded in 1960. Our Pastor is R. D. Fowler. R.D. is a
graduate of Furman University in Greenville, SC and Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. He is married to his high school sweetheart Deborah
Williams. Their daughter Catherine was married to Mark Horner in 2003. R.D. has
been pastor of Bethel since 1991. Bethel sponsors the Tri-Community Fellowship
on the West side of Lincoln.
The Tri-Community Fellowship is a mission of Bethel Baptist Church on the west side of Lincoln. The mission ministers to the Woodlawn, Gas Light and Country Side Manufactured housing communities. Services are held Sunday mornings at the Woodlawn Club House at 11:00am. Glory to Glory, a Bible study for Youth, meets on Sunday nights at 6:30 PM at the Woodlawn Club House. They also host youth activities at 7PM on Friday nights. Thom Wright, a resident of the tri-community neighborhood is now pastor of the mission church. Thom has worked with Tri-Community since it's founding.
GOOD NEWS CHURCH
Good News Church is a more contemporary Slavic fellowship whose services are in
the Russian language. GNC met
at Bethel for five years and Bethel is still proud to be associated with the
wonderful members of that congregation. Pastor Paul Solkan and GNC now
have their own facilities located at 30th and Starr in downtown Lincoln.
