Title: WALKING WITH A HOLY GOD

The Question! Verse 1
Who is able to walk in fellowship with a holy God?
Not just how we get there -
Obviously the matter of salvation is priority - You must be born again.
The Answer!! Verse 2
The person who can walk in fellowship with a holy God
characterized by three things
1. Honest Living –
Integrity
A simple definition: Honest Living!
Integrity is soundness of moral principle and character; the
quality of being honest and morally upright.
2. Righteousness
Outward actions which are the results of inner character.
3. Truth
Acknowledges the truth in the heart
Jesus said You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free -
John 8:32 Not just knowing true facts
John 14:6 - I Am
Specific Examples in Verses 3-5
1. Integrity in relationships
No Slander
Making a false and malicious statement that is damaging to a
persons reputation
Meanness
Cause harm by word or deed It specifically I think relates to
how you can cause harm to a person by what you say not only to
their reputation but also to their person.
Discredit?
Gossip
The idea is that of "taking up," or receiving listening to gossip
believing it as truth, or readily giving credit to something said about
someone else and spreading it. Whether it’s true or not.
Specific Examples in Verses 3-5
2. Integrity in fellowship
Despises one who is rejected by the Lord
Those rejected by the Lord are those who have rejected the Lord.
Doesn’t mean you can’t have friends who are unsaved.
What it means though is what we saw in Ps 1:1 How blessed is the
man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the
path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! (NAS)
They are not to be the influences of our lives - this is hard sometimes
Sports heros or Rock stars movie stars political figures
Honors those who fear the Lord
While we can have a desire to play or act or whatever like someone
those we want to honor in emulating how they live are those who
trust the Lord. They are to be our true heros in life.
Specific Examples in Verses 3-5
3. Integrity of commitment
We keep our word
We mean what we say
Our yes is yes
Dependability
who keeps his word
whatever the cost,

Exploitation of others refers to giving money to others
usury – high interest
taking advantage
Loan Sharking
Exploitation of others refers to getting money from others
bribes - extortion
The Results of a life of integrity.
the one who does these things will never be moved. Ps 15:5

ut his delight is in the law of the
Psalm 1:3 And he will be like a tree {firmly} planted by streams of
water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither;
and in whatever he does, he prospers.
“No storm shall tear him from his foundations, drag him from his
anchorage, or uproot him from his place.” Charles Spurgeon
This only happens when we allow Jesus to be Lord of all our Lives.
